Split times are shown as a red box for behind split time, a green box for ahead of split time. Use setup car to enhance an aspect of the default car, essential for fast times. Collisions cause damage to the key parts of the car, repair damage at the end of a stage in car repair.
A symbol will appear if the car is in a dangerous condition and any further damage will retire the car.
